FAQs

Why are Eartivo vessels priced at a premium compared to ordinary ceramics?

You are investing in a labor of time and a victory over fire. Each Eartivo piece requires a sophisticated firing process that few can master. Only the finest, most resilient pieces survive the kiln to reach your desk, making each one a rare masterpiece of the present moment.

Are the pieces suitable for food use?

All our tableware is food-safe. We use glazes that we make ourselves from natural raw materials and without any toxic ingredients.

How do you ensure my piece arrives safely?

Your vessel is protected by a custom-engineered, multi-layer premium gift box designed to withstand international travel. Should damage occur during transit, our 100% Free Replacement Guarantee applies—simply send photos of the item and packaging to support@eartivo.com within 48 hours, and we’ll take care of the rest. Your peace of mind is our top priority.

How are orders packaged?

We carefully package your orders to ensure your items arrive intact. All our packages are insured so we can refund your order in case of loss or breakage.

Do they contain lead?

As the clay comes from the ground, there is no guarantee that the wares are 100% free of lead. It's less than 0.01%. It's safe to use. The fluxing agent for the glaze is natural iron ore and wood ash, not a bit of lead was used in the process.

Do you ship anywhere in the world?

Yes. All our packages are shipped from China and we ship worldwide.

I can't place an order on your website. What should I do?

If you have trouble finalizing your order (refused payment, error message or other), please contact us by email at support@eartivo.com specifying the problem you are encountering. We will get back to you as soon as possible to help you finalize your order.

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

Total delivery time = Processing time + Shipping time

(Not including customs delays, weekends, holidays, and any unforeseen circumstances)

Processing Time: 3-5 business days

Standard (Free): Typically arrives within 7–12 business days.
Priority/White-Glove: Arrives within 3–5 business days.

Please note: As these are artisanal pieces traveling across oceans, we appreciate your patience in honoring the time it takes to transport them safely.

How much does shipping cost?

Standard International Express (SF Express): We are pleased to offer Complimentary Shipping on all orders. The cost of secure, insured transit is already woven into the price of your vessel.

Priority Worldwide (DHL): For those seeking a faster arrival, this premium upgrade is available for $35.00.

Will I have to pay customs or import duties?

For most orders delivered to the United States, there are typically no additional customs duties for items under $800. If any unexpected local fees arise, they are the responsibility of the recipient, but we do our best to provide all necessary documentation to ensure a smooth passage.

How can I track my order?

You will be able to track your order using the tracking link that will be sent to you by email at the time of shipment. This tracking link will also be available on the order confirmation page.

Why are there tiny dark speckles on the surface of my Snow series piece?

These are natural iron spots, often called mineral bursts. Because Eartivo vessels are crafted from 100% raw, mineral-rich Dehua rock ore rather than refined industrial porcelain, micro-elements of iron are naturally present in the clay. During the intense, multi-day heat of traditional dragon-kiln firing, these iron elements melt and gently rise to the surface, piercing the glaze to form unique, organic dark spots. Please rest assured that these are not material impurities or quality defects; they are the authentic, normal signatures of traditional wood-fired ceramic art, ensuring your piece is entirely one-of-a-kind.

I noticed a fine network of lines on the glaze. Is my vessel cracked?

No worries. Your vessel is completely structurally sound and safe to use. What you see is our signature Living Glaze, featuring a delicate, intentional crackle pattern (traditionally known as Kaipian). This pattern occurs naturally during the cooling process in the kiln due to the organic relationship between the rock ore clay and the glaze. This glaze is "alive"—as you use it, the fine lines will subtly and beautifully deepen in color by absorbing the natural tea tones. This evolution is a highly celebrated aspect of ceramic appreciation, capturing the quiet passage of time and your daily tea rituals.
